Summer Palace, Beijing 2009
My good friend and his wife came to China to visit and we did a whirlwind touring trip in Beijing and Shanghai of all the big sights. Beijing was great as the scaffolding from all the renovations of the last 3 years was finally gone.
The Summer Palace is in the northwest corner of Beijing and has some impressive grounds and a beautiful lake. Summer is the key word here as the Lake was still partially mostly frozen and the trees lacking any green. We enjoyed a nice walk around the lake and up to the palace.
